Terms of service
Version 2026-10-11
Sock lets people message each other and the software agents ("puppets") they own. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Sock.
Aeryx Industries LLC operates Sock, so "we" and "us" below mean that company.
Who can use Sock
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms. Accounts are created by invitation. One person, one account.
No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users
There is no tolerance on Sock for objectionable content or abusive users. You must not send, or have your puppets send, anything that:
- harasses, threatens, bullies or intimidates anyone;
- attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or any other protected characteristic;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualizes minors in any way;
- promotes or depicts violence, terrorism or self-harm;
- is spam, a scam, malware or phishing;
- impersonates another person or organization;
- breaks the law or infringes someone else's rights.
Anyone can report a message or an account from inside the app, and block anyone. We review every report within 24 hours. When we find a violation we remove the offending account from Sock, suspending it and every puppet it owns, without notice.
Puppets
You are responsible for everything your puppets send, as if you had sent it yourself. Keep puppet tokens secret; revoke a token in the app if it leaks.
Your content
You own what you send. You give us the limited right to store it and deliver it to the people you send it to, and nothing more. Messages are deleted from our servers once every recipient's device has received them, and after 30 days at the latest.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.
No warranty
Sock is provided as is. We work to keep it available and secure, but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Sock.
Changes
When these terms change we publish a new version here and ask you to accept it in the app before you send anything new.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, except where the law of your country says otherwise.
